Butterknife

butterknife is a massachusetts-based rock band. two guitars, bass, drums. we play loud and fast but make room for melody and open space. we like songs with choruses and bridges. we like songs where the guitarists don't play the same thing except for the guitar solo. we don't really like guitar solos. we love when our songs make people dance.
our first CD "onetworeadygo." was released on June 17th, 2010. You can listen to four of the tunes over to the left there, and you can download a couple at www.butterknife.info.
we play shows in the boston area and occasionally even further away. you should come.

Guillermo Sexo

"Secret Wild is Guillermo Sexo's fourth self-released album, produced this time by the amazing Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr., Thurston Moore). Expanding on the intricate textures the band touched upon with their last album, Vivid Nights (2010), Secret Wild is more focused and seamless in its sound. After a tireless search, Guillermo Sexo have found the right formula for their unique blend of 90's indie rock, shoegaze, psych-folk and avant-garde.
Guitarist and founder, Reuben Bettsak, has always expressed that song craft be the main focus in Guillermo Sexo, and Secret Wild stands true to his vision. It is their most progressive, creative, and cohesive release to date. Singer Noell Dorsey takes over a larger portion of the vocal duties, interweaving her beautiful, haunting, and captivating melodies throughout the record. Bettsak's signature big and mathy guitar lines build to immense proportions over the excellent foundation that Elliott Anderson’s massive bass and Jay Weixelbaum's gigantic beats provide. Opening tracks “Color the Noise,” and “Skyline,” bring the dreaminess to the fold, while “Exhale,” and title track, “Secret Wild,” show the band’s increased strength in delivering 60’s inspired folk arrangements. There are plenty of rockers in tracks “Green Eyes,” “Leave Us,” and the stoner riff-laden “Smoke Signals.” Guillermo Sexo offer an increasingly dynamic live show with new drummer Ryan Connelly (of Mount Peru), and have been reviving gems from their entire catalogue. See them on tour in the Eastern US this fall."
